Blogtoberfest 2012 - Day 9 - A Game of Thrones

I recently checked the Game of Thrones DVDs out from the library to watch season 1.  I read the books written by George R.R. Martin quite some time ago, and really don't remember them.  After watching the 10 episodes of season one and getting hooked, I decided to go back and read the books again.  Tonight I finished book 1, A Game of Thrones.  I was more than a bit surprised at how well the TV show stays true to the book.  I've found that rarely to be the case when a book or series of books is made into a TV show.  I can honestly say that I am hooked again, and looking forward to moving on to book 2, A Clash of Kings.
