Teaser Tuesday time! Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read • Open to a random page • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
My teaser for today:
"Kenny emerged from the next room, a huge, stupid-looking kid of maybe twenty. He looked like he had walked right off the set of Deliverance in his coveralls with one strap hanging down and his mouth hanging open."
p. 161, "Deeper Than the Dead" by Tami Hoag
My aunt gave me this book for Christmas. I don't recall reading anything by Hoag before. So I'm excited to check out this book. I value my aunt's recommendations tremendously. She's the person who turned me on to Harry Potter. When she asked me many years ago if I'd read any of the Harry Potter books, I said to her, "No, those books are for kids." She proceeded to tell me how much she was enjoying reading them, and considering she was probably in her 60's at the time, she effectively debunked for me that they were "kids books."
