Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday time!

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
My teaser for today:
"When I opened my eyes again, I no longer had claws and feathers, and I was crouching rather awkwardly in human form in the branches of the cedar, complete with nightie, hooded sweater, polka-dot socks, and the certainty that my weight was far too much for the thin branches.  They cracked, giving way under me, and although I reached for anything that came my way as I fell, I dropped like a stone into the middle of the pentagram and right onto what had come up from the ground."

pp. 68-69, "Dream A Little Dream" by Kerstin Gier
Lately I seem to be reading quite a few books in the Young Adult category.  This book is in that genre, and includes a little mystery, a little fantasy, and a little romance.  It's the first book in The Silver Trilogy, and was translated into English from German.  Book 2 has been published and book 3 is due out in 2016.  The author also wrote The Ruby Red Trilogy, which I'm adding to my list of "To Be Read" books.  I tend to not buy many books these days.  I take advantage of my local library system instead.  However, they do not have any other books by Gier, so I'm leaning heavily towards making an exception in this case and buying them.

  1. Whoa! This sounds great. Hey, at least she came back with clothes on!

  2. This sounds really good! I love cross-genre books--and one with shapeshifters! I will have to look for this one. Thanks for sharing.

    1. If you like books with shapeshifters and haven't read Anne Bishop's The Others series, I highly recommend it!!!
