Visited Local Virginia Winery

Today I visited the Gray Ghost Winery in Amissville, Virgina, with some friends.  Here we are by the Christmas tree in the wine tasting room.  The winery is a little over an hour from the DC area.  They have a room where there are all kinds of things made from wine corks in it!  They have a Christmas tree, a rocking horse, Santa's chair,

a grandfather clock, a snowman, and one of my favorites that we were told was made this year out of about 6,000 corks, Santa's mailbox! After tasting the wine, we hung out for a while in their upstairs lounge area. I would enjoy going back again in the spring when the weather is nicer. They had plenty of outdoor seating and a gazebo. It was too cold to consider sitting outside today, but in better weather, it would be very relaxing!  They had a store where they sold all kinds of merchandise.  I got a kick out of one of the t-shirts they had for sale there.....
The t-shirt was a hoot, but my favorite prop was the wine holder that appeared to be a deer sampling the product!  We all left with a bottle of their Victoria Red which was described as a light, semi-dry, soft red wine with bright fruit flavors that linger on the palate.
