Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday time!

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
My teaser for today:
"The wizard on the street also plays a part in the concealment of magical beasts. Those who own a Hippogriff, for example, are bound by law to enchant the beast with a Disillusionment Charm to distort the vision of any Muggle who may see it."

p. xix, "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them' by Newt Scamander
I saw a preview for the new movie coming out soon that is based on this book. I hadn't heard of the book before, which I found a bit unsettling because I absolutely LOVE the Harry Potter books. So, off I went to my local library to find the book. I was not expecting such a small volume, nor was I expecting it to be shelved with Juvenile Fiction.  That will teach me about have expectations regarding books!
I'm still reading the Introduction, which follows the About the Author and Forward sections.  I'm really enjoying it, and believe that any Harry Potter fan would do the same!

  1. I have enjoyed the Potter stories, so I see no reason why I wouldn't enjoy this too.
